Sonic Youth marked this week’s release of its new album — Matador Records debut The Eternal — with a number of promotional events, including a live performance at a New York City Apple Store and an appearance Wednesday on the  “Late Show With David Letterman” (video above). The band, whose American tour starts later this month in Chicago, also is scheduled to perform June 22 on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”
