David Bowie’s ‘A Reality Tour’ coming to CD

David Bowie, 'A Reality Tour' DVD

David Bowie’s 2004 concert DVD “A Reality Tour” will be released in remastered audio form on two CDs — with three bonus tracks — early next year by Columbia/Legacy.

The 33-track A Reality Tour is set for release Jan. 26, and will feature the entire DVD tracklist — recorded in November 2003 in Dublin — plus three bonus tracks recorded elsewhere on Bowie’s Reality tour: “China Girl,” “Breaking Glass” and “Fall Dog Bombs the Moon.”

The tracklist highlights all phases for Bowie’s career, through the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and ’00s, and includes his cover of the Pixies’ “Cactus” (see video clip below),  in addition to a rare outing of “Sister Midnight,” which he co-wrote for Iggy Pop’s 1977 solo debut The Idiot, as well as “I’m Afraid of Americans,” popularized by its Trent Reznor remix and video.

One Comment

  1. “Essential” is inaccurate. About 15% of the songs were ones I knew / recalled, others were fillers. Another 15% were song or artists I had never heard of — and I am a devoteee of the Rock music of this period. Review the ENTIRE list bfore you decide to buy! The remainder are, indeed, from the 70’s, but far, FAR from being “essential”.
