Tracklist for Morrissey’s ‘Swords’ b-sides CD revealed; singer plans Los Angeles concert

Morrissey, circa 2004

The tracklist for Morrissey’s forthcoming b-sides album Swords has surfaced, and the 18-song CD collects all but eight of the bonus tracks from the singles released off of the singer’s 2000s-era output — meaning Moz will be more than happy for you to shell out cash for this particular reissue package.

Due out Oct. 26 in the UK and Nov. 3 in the U.S., Swords — also available as a 2LP set — will collect most of the singer’s studio b-sides from 2004’s You Are the Quarry, 2006’s Ringleader of the Tormentors and 2009’s Years of Refusal, as well as all three cuts (“Children in Pieces,” “My Dearest Love” and a live version of David Bowie’s “Drive-In Saturday”) that backed “All You Need Is Me,” off of 2008’s Greatest Hits. According to a post on fan site Morrissey-solo.com, “initial CD orders” of Swords will come packaged with an eight-track bonus disc recorded live in Warsaw on July 7 during the singer’s illness-marred Tour of Refusal.

Apart from live tracks, the only 2004-2009 b-sides not included on Swords are: “Mexico,” from “First of the Gang to Die” (2004); “I Am Two People,” from “Let Me Kiss You” (2004); “No One Can Hold a Candle to You,” “Slum Mums” and “The Public Image,” from “I Have Forgiven Jesus” (2004); “Human Being,” from “You Have Killed Me” (2006); and “A Song From Under the Floorboards,” from “The Youngest Was the Most Loved” (2006).

Finally, while the singer’s tour itinerary only lists about a dozen U.K. and French dates in October and November, fan site True To You today reported “Morrissey will play Los Angeles in December, the date and venue information to be announced shortly.”
