Faith No More, 'The Very Best Definititve Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection'

Record Rack: A weekly round-up of the pertinent new releases hitting stores this Tuesday:

ARTIST: Faith No More
RELEASE: The Very Best Definitive Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection
BACKSTORY: The recently reunited act issues a new UK best-of, featuring an 18-track disc of remastered faves such as “Midlife Crisis,” “We Care a Lot” and, of course, “Epic.” A second, 10-track disc features B-sides, covers and rarities.

ARTIST: Elvis Costello
RELEASE: Secret, Profane & Sugarcane
BACKSTORY: The once-angry young man’s latest studio album — recorded in Nashville  with T Bone Burnett — was supposed to come out on vinyl last week in advance of its June 2 release date for the CD. It’s still unclear whether the vinyl pressing will surface, but, nevertheless, the CD arrives this week.

ARTIST: Simple Minds
RELEASE: Graffiti Soul
BACKSTORY: The veteran act’s 16th studio album, released last week in the UK, makes it stateside. The deluxe edition includes a bonus disc with nine cover songs, featuring cuts by everyone from Neil Young to Massive Attack and the The Beach Boys.

ARTIST: The Housemartins
RELEASE: London 0 Hull 4: Deluxe Edition
BACKSTORY: Leading off with the hit UK single “Happy,” the deluxe, remastered edition of 1986’s London 0 Hull 4 features an expanded version of the 12-track album on one disc, and a second disc full of b-sides, covers, outtakes and live BBC sessions.
