Video: Thom Yorke’s Atoms for Peace covers Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke brought his solo band Atoms for Peace — featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and producer Nigel Godrich — to the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif., last night as part of the group’s pre-Coachella tour, and whipped out a surprise cover: Joy Division’s classic “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” Yorke, of course, is no stranger to the Joy Division/New Order songbook, as Radiohead previously covered “Ceremony” as part of a live webcast.
