Video: Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy the Silence’ covered by Maritime for the A.V. Club

Depeche Mode, 'Enjoy the Silence'

Last month we brought you Ted Leo and the Pharmacists’ classy cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World, the first video from “Undercover: 25 Bands, 25 Cover Songs, 1 Small Room,” a new weekly web series by the A.V. Club that features bands stopping by the publication’s offices, picking a cover song off their list and cranking out the tune.

Six weeks later, we drop in on the project again to bring you Promise Ring offshoot Maritime doing a slowed down, keytar-assisted cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” (see below). Still on the A.V. Club’s list to be covered: The Smiths’ “A Rush and  Push and the Land is Ours,” The Wedding Present’s “My Favourite Dress,” The Cure’s “In Between Days,” The Replacements’ “I Will Dare” and R.E.M.’s “Driver 8.” New videos are posted every Tuesday.

See video of Maritime covering “Enjoy the Silence” after the jump…
