Video: Peter Buck’s Tired Pony plays ‘Dead American Writers’ on Letterman

The latest side project from R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck — the country-tinged Tired Pony, fronted by Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody — stopped by the “Late Show with David Letterman” last night to perform “Dead American Writers,” off the band’s just-released debut The Place We Ran From. The band — which also features longtime R.E.M. sideman Scott McCaughey — performs at New York City’s Irving Plaza tonight and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday.

Saw these guys in London back in the summer, were absolutely brilliant. So lucky to see them altogether except for Zoe but we had the wonderful Lisa Hannigan standing in.
