BACKSTORY: Not out in the U.S. until Jan. 11, this week the Australian import surfaces of the rockers’ new collection of re-recorded hits featuring the likes of Ben Harper, Rob Thomas, Train’s Pat Monahan, Tricky and even occasional frontman J.D. Fortune taking over for the late Michael Hutchence. (See tracklist here.)

The Church, 'Heyday'ARTIST: The Church
RELEASE: Seance, Heyday
BACKSTORY: The Australian rock act this week releases the second round in its newly launched reissue series: the band’s third and fourth records, originally released in 1983 and 1986, respectively. Seance has two bonus tracks (“Someone Special,” “Autumn Soon”) and Heyday one (“Trance Ending”).  (See tracklist here.)

Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, 'Northern Aggression'ARTIST: Steve Wynn
RELEASE: Northern Agression
BACKSTORY: The former Dream Syndicate leader this week releases his third studio album with The Miracle 3 in the U.K. (it’s not out in the U.S. until Nov. 30). The 11-track record is Wynn’s first with his Miracle 3 bandmates Jason Victor, Linda Pitmon and Dave Decastro since 2005’s …tick…tick…tick (See tracklist here.)

New Model Army, 'Anthology'ARTIST: New Model Army
RELEASE: Anthology
BACKSTORY: The long-running U.K. post-punk act delivers a 30th anniversary retrospective in its homeland this week, available both in 2CD and 2CD/3DVD sets. The CD’s 30 tracks cover the band’s history, while the DVDs feature live sets filmed in 1985, 1990, 1996 and 2006, plus a ton of special features, including music videos and bootleg footage.

The Teardrop Explodes, 'Kilimanjaro: Deluxe Edition'ARTIST: The Teardrop Explodes
RELEASE: Kilimanjaro: Deluxe Edition
BACKSTORY: This week sees the U.S. release of last summer’s expanded edition of the 1980 debut from Julian Cope and Co., which restores the album’s original running order on the first disc and features a second CD with 14 singles and B-sides, as well as a third disc with 11 tracks recorded at the BBC in 1979 and 1980 (see full tracklist here).

  1. Heyday actually has 3 bonus songs that weren’t on previous releases. “As You Will” “The View” and “Trance Ending”
