Video: The Vaselines play ‘Sex With an X,’ ‘Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam’ on Fallon

Reunited Scottish indie-pop duo The Vaselines last night made their American TV debut, performing, in the clip posted above, the title track to their recently released Sub Pop Records album Sex With an X — just the band’s second record and its first in 21 years — on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

As is becoming the norm, the band — Eugene Kelly, Frances McKee and various extra players — stuck around and played a second song for Fallon’s website; this time, as seen in the clip below, they whipped out “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam,” the 1988 EP track made famous when Nirvana covered it during its MTV Unplugged in New York taping.
