Stream: Peter Murphy’s 40-minute interview, live set on Pittsburgh’s 91.3 FM WYEP

Peter Murphy live at WYEP

Last week, as Peter Murphy’s just-completed U.S. tour made its way through Pittsburgh, the former Bauhaus frontman dropped by the studios of 91.3 FM WYEP for a nearly 40-minute on-air interview and live acoustic performance — which can be streamed below in its entirety.

In the broadcast, Murphy talks about the dissolution of the Bauhaus reunion, his forthcoming solo album Ninth and, in a poignant moment, his reconciliation last year with late Japan bassist Mick Karn and their efforts to record, in the waning months of Karn’s life, a second Dalis Car album; Murphy confirms four tracks were finished for what’s being billed as the Dalis Car 2 EP, and a fifth could come to fruition.

As for the music, Murphy and two of his bandmates perform new single “I Spit Roses,” off Ninth, in addition to 1988 single “Indigo Eyes” and the mash-up of 1990’s “A Strange Kind of Love” and the Bauhaus classic “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” that he played on the just-wrapped tour. Additionally, check out more photos of Murphy’s session here.
