Billy Bragg touring U.S. in September

Billy Bragg

British agit-rocker Billy Bragg will venture across the pond this September to play a short U.S. tour following his slot at Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival over Labor Day Weekend.

The singer — who also has U.K. festival dates booked this summer and a nine-date U.K. tour set in December — is scheduled to play Bumbershoot on Sept. 5, and will follow that with nine U.S. dates mainly in the midwest and southeast (see full tour dates below).

Bragg’s latest project was “Pressure Drop,” a play by Mick Gordon featuring six new songs from Bragg that “explores the pressures that rapid changes wrought by globalization place on three generations of a white working class family.” The play has finished its run, but fans can download four of those songs for free by singing up here.
