Video: Dead Can Dance’s Brendan Perry, Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie play KEXP

When former Dead Can Dance member Brendan Perry’s joint North American tour with Cocteau Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie rolled through Seattle last month, the acclaimed musicians dropped by the studios of indie-leaning public-radio outlet KEXP, where the 4AD veterans each performed a selection of their own songs live on the air.

The radio station recently uploaded video of the pair’s performances, and you can now watch the highlights here, including the clip posted above, which finds Perry joined by Guthrie for a cover of Tim Buckley’s “Songs to the Siren,” which Guthrie recorded with This Mortal Coil in 1983 for the collective’s Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust EP.

Below, you can also see Perry perform Dead Can Dance’s “The Carnival Is Over,” while Guthrie is represented with four clips: “Mission Dolores,” “Neil’s Theme,” “lisa@dixo.com” and “Monument.”
