Less than 10 dates into the first leg of its “Theatre of the Escapists” tour, Jane’s Addiction has announced another U.S. leg this May, with 14 more shows added after the band — Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, along with bassist Chris Chaney — plays South America and Mexico next month.
The new dates, in support of 2011′s The Great Escape Artist, begin in early May after the band returns from playing shows in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, and run through late May, hitting cities in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
Given the band has yet to play California, it’s likely more dates are coming.
A presale for the new dates begins 10 a.m. Wednesday at JanesAddiction.com. In a seemingly contradictory move, the band will have both a special presale for Citibank credit card holders and donate a portion of the proceeds from its ticket sales to the Occupy movement.
