The House of Love to make first live appearance in 4 years at Poland’s Off Festival

The House of Love — largely dormant following a couple years’ worth of activity surrounding the release of Days Run Away, the band’s 2005 reunion album — will make what appears to be its first live appearance in more than four years later this summer when the beloved indie act appears at the Off Festival in Katowice, Poland.

The reunited band, presumably still centered around frontman Guy Chadwick and guitarist Terry Bickers, is slated to take the stage Aug. 4 at the festival, which is headlined by Iggy and the Stooges, Swans and Thurston Moore. It appears the House of Love last performed live in July 2008 at the U.K.’s Latitude Festival, which itself followed a September 2007 performance of the band’s debut in London as part of the Don’t Look Back series.

Chadwick and Bickers, who quit the band in 1989, reunited with former drummer Pete Evans for a 2005 tour and the release of Days Run Away. It’s not entirely clear what the band’s been up to since; its official website hasn’t been updated since 2007, although the group’s MySpace page does include news of the Poland festival date.
