The Fixx expand U.S. tour in support of ‘Beautiful Friction,’ first new album in decade

With Beautiful Friction, their first album in nearly a decade, out next week, New Wave rockers The Fixx have expanded their U.S. summer tour, with dates set next week in California, a smattering of free shows around the country in August and a pair of late-summer fair dates with the J. Geils Band.

The band — featuring the reunited mid-’80s lineup of singer Cy Curnin, keyboard player Rupert Greenall, guitarist Jamie West-Oram, drummer Adam Woods and bassist Dan K. Brown — is set to play San Juan Capistrano, Redondo Beach and Los Angeles next week, then, in August, hits Oregon, Minnesota, Colorado, Illinois, Vermont and Pennsylvania.

The 11-track Beautiful Friction is due out July17 on Kirtland Records, and is preceded by the single “Anyone Else,” which you can stream here.

Aug. 26: Champlain Valley Fair, Essex Junction, VT (w/ J. Geils Band)
Aug. 28: The Great Allentown Fair, Allentown, PA (w/ J. Geils Band)

  1. Downloaded the great new single and looking forward to picking the full album up on Tuesday. They always put on a hell of a show…hope they expand the tour even more! The East Coast needs a little more love.

  2. high on with the fixx, more vivid than ever! the last album is a top-notch as the others were in their times! hark on those catchy tunes amourously crafted by everlasting musicians…when in france, guys? ‘t’d be so nice t’see you…and not only in paris, please!!! keep on rockin’!
