Video: Dead Can Dance open North American tour with first concerts in 7 years

The reunited  Dead Can Dance — co-founders Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — have released their first new album in 16 years, and are now a few dates into their first live dates since 2005, following a tour-opening concert in Vancouver, B.C., last Thursday that saw the band play five of the new album’s eight tracks plus an assortment of older favorites, including a show-closing cover of Tim Buckley’s classic “Song to the Siren.”

Below, we’ve posted the setlist from the first night, and have rounded up a variety of video from that gig and the three other concerts the duo has performed since. Dead Can Dance is touring North America through Sept. 7, after which it heads for Europe for dates through late October. South American and Asian legs of the tour are yet to be announed.

awww.. you linked thru to some of my videos from Berkeley and the Gibson!! That’s really kinda awesome :)

  3. I saw them in Los Angeles and I have to say the crowd was very rude. Shouting idiotic things. It was very sad.

  4. Saw the Seattle show — excellent! Thank you Lisa and Brendan, for visiting our city! It was, as Brendan commented before leaving the stage, “a beautiful evening.”

  5. I SAW DCD IN CHICAGO LAST NIGHT. THESE VIDEOS ARE SUPERB. I CAN WATCH THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND REMEMBER A PERFECT LATE SUMMER NIGHT WITH AN AMAZING, OTHERWORLDLY BAND. THANKS!!!

  6. It is “Song to the Siren”, not “of the Siren” as written in the article. Huge difference :)

  7. DCD: enjoyed watching these videos and remembering when I first saw them live at the “tower ballroom” Birmingham England in the 1980’s. later on also the town and country club London.
One of the greatest bands of any era.
