Premiere: Pet Shop Boys, ‘One Night’ — new track off ‘Memory of the Future’ single

The Pet Shop Boys will usher in 2013 with the release of “Memory of the Future,” the third single off their latest album Elysium, on Jan. 1 in two different download bundles, featuring a number of new remixes of the track as well as three new B-sides — one of which, “One Night,” is being premiered today here at Slicing Up Eyeballs.

Below, you can stream “One Night,” which originally was written and recorded in 2007, but completed recently by the Pet Shop Boys and mixed by Bob Kraushaar.

“One Night” joins a Stuart Price mix of “Memory of the Future” and two other new PSB songs, “Inside” and “Listening” on the first version of the single, the latter of which recently was recorded by a-ha frontman Morten Harket. A second single, a collection of remixes, features five new versions of the title track, including a remix by Ulrich Schnauss (see tracklists below).

The singles also will be released on CD as well as digital formats in the U.K. on Dec. 31.

  1. I’m happy PSB release lots of singles. Wish Duran did per their last album.

  2. Looking forward to these releases. Glad they are still releasing them on CD and don’t have a bunch of digital-only tracks…

  3. I have that Marten Harket CD and “Listening” is a really strong track. Will be cool to hear the Pets’ version of it.

  4. Hope the boys include some bsides in the new tour especially a certain Je ne… From the winner single.they should do a Springsteen and vary their set list from show to show.they have so many great songs.
