Depeche Mode announces North American dates for ‘Delta Machine’ summer tour

Depeche Mode

With Depeche Mode set to formally launch its new album Delta Machine this evening with the kick-off performance of the 2013 season of the “Live on Letterman” concert series, the band today unveiled the long-awaited dates to its North American tour, a trek that opens Aug. 22 in Detroit and runs through Oct. 8 in Phoenix.

The band released the following statement regarding the tour:

“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and performing. There are so many die hard Depeche Mode fans who have been with us every step of this journey that I can’t wait to see. I also hope that we gain some new fans with the release of Delta Machine, and I look forward to exposing them to a great Depeche Mode live performance,” said Dave Gahan.

Martin Gore added, “I enjoy being in front of an audience because our songs really take on a life of their own when performed live. When we’re performing, the stage almost becomes a mirror for the people who have been there since the beginning, and we become a reflection of our audience. I’m looking forward to this tour for that very reason.”

The synthpop legends will follow up tonight’s concert with their first-ever appearance at South By Southwest for a Q&A session and live performance, then a European album-release show this weekend in Austria. The band’s 2013 world tour launches May 4 in France and continues late July in Europe (see dates below), with as-yet-unannounced North American dates to follow.

Delta Machine is due out March 26.

Tickets for the U.S. shows go on sale April 6; see fansite Home for full pre-sale details.

  1. Less than 20 dates and no Madison Square Garden. Hmmm…

    • Madison Square Garden will be in 2014 when DM return to the states for the second leg of the North American Tour. Dave has stated in interviews that the will be playing MSG on this tour.

  2. Ah i see, ok :)

  3. jazzmaster

I don’t know…DM have not played 2 North American legs since 1993/1994..still not a lot of dates here and 25% of them are in CA…

  4. St. Paul! Sweet, they haven’t played there since the Exiciter Tour, kind of strange no Denver or Kansas City though

  5. No Colorado date? Please tell me they’re still booking dates because they’ve never skipped Colorado! :( :(

  6. There better be a second leg including Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Denver!

  7. Scott Stalcup

    DANG! No Indianapolis dates!

  8. They did a 2nd leg on PTA tour.

  9. They’ve skipped St. Louis for 20 years, here’s hoping we get them this time. I can’t road trip to see them.

  10. Hopefully they will come back to Seattle for the 2nd leg of the NA tour.

  11. What! NO DENVER! :(

    • Well i keep hearing that they are doing a second leg of north america and will be comeing to denver lets just hope its true!

  12. They’re playing two weekends at the Austin (TX) City Limits festival in October. ACL is following Coachella’s lead and doing two weekends of the same line-up,

  13. Vancouver for F’s sake! They screwed us on Tour of the Universe and if they don’t come, at the very, very least, to Seattle I’m really going to be pissed at DM. COME TO VANCOUVER!

  14. There were cities that were left off the tour for 2013. They will be playing these cities when they come back in 2014. A second leg of the Delta Machine tour is a go from what I’ve heard. They haven’t done that since the Devotional tour, which was f’n awesome!!! Cannot wait for them to come back.
