Wire streams new album ‘Change Becomes Us,’ announces U.S. tour dates

Wire circa 2013

Post-punk legends Wire this week released their 13th studio album Changes Becomes Us, and instead of offering the increasingly popular pre-release stream, the band is going for post-release: the full album, billed as an “exploration of unrecorded material originally written in 1979-80,” is now streaming over at Pitchfork.

The band — featuring core members Colin NewmanGraham Lewis and Robert Grey. plus new guitarist Matt Simms — also announced seven U.S. concerts in July, beginning July 9 in Detroit and wrapping up July 19 with an appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago; it’s not clear if more U.S. or North American concerts are yet to be announced (see dates below).
