Siouxsie to play 2nd concert at Yoko Ono’s Meltdown festival due to ‘incredible demand’

Siouxsie

Due to “incredible demand,” former Banshees frontwoman Siouxsie has added a second performance at the Yoko Ono-curated Meltdown festival at London’s Southbank Centre, an event that also will feature sets by Patti Smith, Iggy & The Stooges, Boy George, and both Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore — plus a live performance of Double Fantasy.

Siouxsie already is slated to play a sold-out concert June 15 at the 2,500-seat Royal Festival Hall, and now has has added a second date on June 17.

Tickets for the new concert go on sale 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, to Southbank Centre members. At 10 a.m. Wednesday, May, 1, “a very limited number of Siouxsie tickets across all ticket prices will be available for Siouxsie mailing list subscribers.” The general on-sale follows at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2.

The concerts are Siouxsie’s first in five years.

  1. I wish she would perform in the U.S.!!! or at the very least fly me over there.

  2. I hope she adds some more shows in Europe in July!

  3. Last time I saw the Sioux, she sounded terrible and was but a shadow of her golden days. I still love her.

  4. Well, I think that these 2 shows should be recorded (since I don’t live in England, and won’t see the shows) for posterity (either as a quadruple LP/double CD and/or a filmed/video performance)…the response alone seems to demand it…I believe this may be the prelude to the next Siouxsie solo album. Maybe we’ll be able to get a dual release of both the live Meltdown performances and the new Siouxsie album in one great package.

Target stores (in USA), you hear what I’m saying? Release a special edition of her new album and a bonus album of these 2 gigs. Now, I’m very excited to hear the cry of an Ice Queen in the (hopefully) near future.

Hopefully this will be the Summer of Siouxsie.
