acl lineup

The rumors were true: Depeche Mode will join The Cure as headliners at this October’s Austin City Limits Music Festival, according to the official lineup revealed tonight. The festival — which also will feature appearances by Thom Yorke’s Atoms for Peace, Muse, Wilco and Lionel Richie —had confirmed The Cure’s involvement over the weekend via a bottlecap.

Tickets for the two-weekend festival — which runs Oct. 4-8 and 11-13 in Austin, Texas — go on sale at 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday. Three-day passes are priced at $225 and go on sale on May 7; there are no single-day tickets available for this festival. The bands will each play both weekends.

The lineup includes: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Muse, Kings of Leon, Atoms For Peace, Lionel Richie, Phoenix, Wilco, Vampire Weekend, The National, Eric Church, Passion Pit, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Fun., Kendrick Lamar, Franz Ferdinand, D’Angelo and many, many more.

  1. It’s hard to imagine Depeche Mode and The Cure in that dusty TX heat but I wish I still lived in Austin.

  2. The cure and depeche mode sharing the stage with Lionel richie. Radical!
