The Psychedelic Furs map out 35-date tour across U.S. this summer

Richard Butler of The Psychedelic Furs

Since last we checked in with The Psychedelic Furs back in March, the band has considerably expanded its summer touring plans, with at least 35 dates announced so far in a trek that will keep Richard Butler and Co. on the road in the U.S. from late May through early September — including a pair on the East Coast with The Go-Go’s.

The tour opens May 31 in Agoura Hills, Calif., and continues through late June before picking up again from mid-July through early August. Following another break, dates have no begun to be announced in late August and early September, culminating, at the moment, with a show in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 9 (see full dates below). The Furs play with The Go-Go’s in Vienna, Va., and Red Bank, N.J.

The summer dates are the first for the Furs since the band canceled a run of New Year’s shows in Las Vegas and California while Butler recovered from spinal surgery.

It’s not clear yet whether these are the band’s final dates or whether more are being added; the band has steadily been adding concerts to its summer itinerary.

  8. Wow, check out the June 4th show! When did California annex the city of Las Vegas? :)

    • Ah, it’s been corrected to “NV”, so my comment no longer makes sense. (Original said “Las Vegas, CA”).

35 dates is a TOUR. Yes.

Look at Depeche Mode…18 North America markets, and 4 dates in LA as part of that number. That is NOT a ‘Tour’, it’s a joke.

Good for the Furs… get out on the road and play for your fans.

  10. Florida and California usually get the most dates because that’s where the largest crowds are…also, the warm weather is a bonus.

excited to see The Furs again on August 3.

  11. I live right between Toronto and Detroit and they are not playing either city. I saw them twice in the 80s, but that still sux.
