My Bloody Valentine announce U.S. concerts ahead of FYF Fest appearance

My Bloody Valentine

Touring this year in support of their long-delayed comeback record mbv, shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine will play at least five concerts in the western U.S. this August in advance of the band’s headlining appearance at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles. It’s not yet clear whether more U.S. dates are planned this summer.

As Pitchfork points out, ticketing websites confirm the August concerts in Austin and Grand Prairie, Texas, as well as Denver, Seattle and San Francisco ahead of the previously announced FYF Fest appearance. The U.S. concerts will be the band’s first since a 2009 tour here.

UPDATE: My Bloody Valentine has now officially announced the five new U.S. shows.

  1. I recommend anyone who can see them on this tour go see them, I saw them at the Denver Fillmore on their 2009 tour and they lived up to the legend, they still got the floor to shake during ‘You Made Me Realize’! Having new songs to play too should make it even better!

  2. Nobody comes to Idaho but they also don’t realize that the population of Southwestern Idaho has doubled in the past 10 years with people from California who know what good music is about. Come to Idaho!

  3. Got my tix for the Denver show – see you there!
