Julian Copes, 'Revolutionary Suicide'Julian Cope

BACKSTORY: The former Teardrop Explodes frontman this week releases, in the U.K., a brand new solo album featuring 11 tracks spread across two CDs, songs “that teem with outrageous orchestrations and compellingly-crafted words of protest, activism and historical richness.”

BACKSTORY: Steve Kilbey, frontman of The Church, re-teams with Martin Kennedy of ambient group All India Radio for their third album in a trilogy that includes 2009’s Unseen Music Unheard Words and 2011’s White Magic. The 11-track album, featuring “Everyone” and “A Better Day,” is out now.

Primal Scream, 'More Light'Primal Scream

RELEASE: More Light
BACKSTORY: Primal Scream returns this week, in the U.S., with its 10th studio album, which was preceded by “2013,” a sax-fueled rocker that came with a creepy video that features pinned moths, tied-up people and masked make-out sessions. The album was released in the U.K. last month.

The Fall, 'Live in San Francisco'The Fall

RELEASE: Live in San Francisco
BACKSTORY: The Ozit Dandelion label this week releases, in the U.K., a 2LP live set from Mark E. Smith and Co. recorded in 2001 that comes with a bonus CD featuring 10 of the 16 tracks included on vinyl. The initial pressing is limited to 1,000 copies on purple vinyl. The set comes in a gatefold sleeve.
