Stream: Jane’s Addiction, ‘Another Soulmate’ — band’s new ‘short attention span’ single

Jane's Addiction

Jane’s Addiction has just embarked on the Uproar Festival package tour with Alice in Chains, and while a new album doesn’t appear to be imminent, Perry Farrell and Co. last week released a standalone digital single, a two-and-a-half-minute rocker the singer told Rolling Stone came out of his attempt to write a “Beatles-esque short song that would be fast and furious and it would just be fun, dig it and move on, short attention span.” Check it out below.

  1. It’s just terrible. If only they had stayed broken up after Ritual they would have a legendary legacy that nobody could take away from them. Instead they have tainted their legacy with sub-par releases. I LOVED Porno For Pyros and I liked some of Perry’s solo stuff, this would be much better under that moniker.

  2. Batshiz Crazay

*Sigh* Although not terrible… not completely great either. And for a band that has money, they might shell out a few bucks for someone to take promo photos rather than a friend, a phone and Instagram.

  3. Ugh.. so tired. I totally agree with Michael. This is terrible.

  4. terrible, voice overproduced and song with no soul, I miss everyday the Avery times.

  5. Way to ruin a legacy, boys. Yet another sub-par “Jane’s” product. Thanks (but no thanks).

  6. Is this Filter?

  7. What the hell is this? Way over produced- I agree.
Dig it? no but move on…yes.

  8. Short attention span?
This song is about 2:37 too long for me.

Like Jim says – Ugh. What a mess.

  9. another reason why I didn’t buy The Great Escape Artist, or their new Live DVD…If its after 1991 on record or 2008 with the brief Avery on tour, then I don’t give a rats ass. No thank you…boys.

  10. not my cup of tea but the great escape artist was a really good record. the masses don’t agree but since when has jane’s addiction catered to the masses. M

  11. BRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUTALLLLLLLLLLL!!!

  12. This is better than Escape Artist, but not as good as Strays, Ritual, Shocking, Debut. Etc

Welcome to the New Janes Addiction.
