  1. Matt: I can’t believe I’m asking because I thought I knew everything there was to know about the Bunnynen but where is “friction” come from?

    • It’s a Television cover that was originally one of the B-sides on the “Bedbugs and Ballyhoo” 12-inch, but has since been on some compilation CDs and their box set, I believe. But that’s where I first heard it. B-sides are live versions of “Friction,” Velvet Underground’s “Run, Run, Run” and the Stones’ “Paint It, Black.”

      • Interesting. I have the “People Are Strange” single, which has the 3 songs you mentioned as the b-side. Love all 3 of them!

  2. Suggestion for next week: New Order “Lonesome Tonight”!

  3. Thanks! I have the box set so I’ll dig it out.

  4. Kudos for Play Dead “Shine” and GLJ “Heartache”. How about Pup’s “Deep Down Trauma Hounds” album version of Mind Perpetual Intercourse for the future show. Both Addiction & DDTH have a different flare on MTPI than other versions. Flood II from SOM would be nice to hear. Great job Matt!

  5. Captin Skinny

How about “A Strange Day” by the Cure or “On the Wire” by SoM?

  6. How about KMFDM? Godlike rocks!

  7. I second “a strange day”. “A hundred years” would be nice too!

  8. Thank you for starting off the show with Godlike. You made my day.
