Paul Westerberg’s solo debut ‘14 Songs’ to receive first-ever vinyl release in 2014

Paul Westerberg, '14 Songs'

As we first mentioned last month, Paul Westerberg’s post-Replacements solo debut — 1993’s 14 Songs, featuring alt-rock radio hit “World Class Fad” — will receive its first-ever vinyl release next year in an 180-gram pressing via Plain Recordings similar to the previously announced release of his 1996 follow-up album Eventually.

The label last week teased the release — which will use the limited-edition CD artwork, as seen above, for the record’s gatefold sleeve — on its Facebook page. No release date has been announced, although it will follow the Eventually vinyl reissue, which is due Jan. 21.

Co-produced with Matt Wallace, Westerberg’s solo debut came a year after he contributed his first post-‘Mats work, the songs “Dyslexic Heart” and “Waiting for Somebody,” to Cameron Crowe’s grunge-era film “Singles,” and features contributions from Ian McLagan of the Faces.
