Morrissey’s spring U.S. tour begins to take shape with Dallas, Boston concerts

Morrissey

When Morrissey announced last month he’d signed a new record deal and plans to release an album later this year, he also promised that 2014 tour dates would be “announced soon.” And while Moz has yet to unveil new tour dates, it appears a spring U.S. trek is beginning to take shape with concerts set for Dallas and Boston in late May and early June.

According to Ticketmaster, tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday for a May 22 show in Dallas and a June 7 performance in Boston. No other dates are listed.

Touring, of course, has been problematic for the newly minted bestselling memoirist, with repeated health issues forcing the cancellation of dates and then entire tours in the U.S. and South America last year.

Morrissey’s last U.S. dates abruptly ended in May 2013 over “ongoing medical problems,” at which time the singer declared, “I hope this isn’t the end, and I hope there will be other chances.”

Morrissey tour dates:

May 22: Majestic Theatre, Dallas, TX
June 7: Boston Opera House, Boston, MA

  1. Oh good. Maybe another Atlanta show that will be cancelled.

    • C’mon my ATL bro, let’s try to be optimistic. : ) I’m a S. Carolina boy, & the last show I saw was the Church at the Variety. Phenomenal! I can’t wait for the Replacements in May. I’ve missed the last 2 Moz tours as well, because he cancelled Asheville (@ Orange Peel) twice. I was already settled in my hotel room in Asheville when I found out he was ill (still) in Atlanta & cancelled. I was bummed to say the least. Let’s just hope 2014> finds him (& all of us) healthy. Best, CW

Awesome. The last two times he played anywhere near me he cancelled. Fuck him.

  3. This is hilarious: the ticketmaster link is also listing an already cancelled show in Richmond, VA…on Sunday 03/15/15.

Come on, give the guy a break! He may only cancel a third of his tour.

  5. Mute Witness is part of a trilogy is’nt it?

  6. All your penne pasta are belong to us!

  7. It always makes me laugh how many comments any article on Morrissey generates. He brings out the passions more than any other artist featured here. Either way, hope he hits up the Pacific Northwest during his run.

i find it funny how when anyone else cancels their tour for medical reasons, fans are so understanding. but when morrissey does it, fans go ballistic. give the man a break! he does put on a good show.

  9. So yesterday the Dallas show was listed on Ticketmaster, and now it’s not, and it’s also not on the Majestic Theatre website. :(

  10. The Dallas event has vanished from Ticketmaster. It was there an hour before tickets were supposed to go on sale. Half an hour before, it was gone. Vanished. Nothing.
