Chameleons Vox performing ‘Script of the Bridge’ on North American tour in 2015

The Chameleons

Mark Burgess is planning to bring ChameleonsVox — the latest incarnation of post-punk favorites The Chameleons — to North America next September and October for a tour that will find the band performing its 1983 debut album Script of the Bridge in its entirety each night.

Burgess has posted his planned 20-date itinerary on Facebook, listing dates and cities, but, for the most part, no venues. He notes the tour is not yet fully confirmed, but that he plans to launch an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign “limited items and perks for fans who contribute.”

The trek is planned to open Sept. 16 in Vancouver, B.C.,  and run through Oct. 7 in Baltimore (see full dates below). So far, he’s only listed venues for shows in Seattle and Columbus, Ohio.

The Script of the Bridge tour will follow dates in Germany and the U.K. this spring during which Chameleons Vox will perform the band’s 1985 sophomore set What Does Anything Mean? Basically.

  1. Perfect. Let’s hope that Strange Times dates are announced soon. That is my favorite record of theirs.

    • Right? I would have picked that album first due to it’s commercial success. Would probably have been a larger draw. Still, I’m not going to miss this one.

  2. OMG. One of my favorites from high school. For some reason, they remained pretty obscure on this side of the pond. Definitely a bucket list concert that I am NOT going to miss!! WOW.

why WHY are you NOT coming to New Orleans!! I’ve been a fan forever and im shocked and excited to see you guys touring!!! Must find a way to see you!!

  4. I am shocked! Fantastic! The Chameleons and “Script of the Bridge” are my second favorite band and album of all time, trailing only The Smiths and “The Queen Is Dead.” I can hardly wait to see them in Portland (and on a Friday no less, which is often not the case for attractions in Portland versus larger markets). Very excited! :-)
