Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” — the Sunday night celebration of the “darker side of classic alternative” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — featured music from The Jesus and Mary Chain, Au Pairs, The Naked and the Dead, Bauhaus, The Sound, Rudimentary Peni, Meat Beat Manifesto, Chrome, Lard, Coil, The Wolfgang Press, Black Tape For a Blue Girl and more.

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs founder/editor Matt Sebastian, airs every Sunday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33). The most recent two episodes also are available as part of Sirius XM’s new On Demand service for online subscribers.

  1. Have you ever heard of the Canadian New Wave band Blue Peter?

    How about the track “Equalizer” for an upcoming show. Very cool song. Almost sounds like it could be a theme for a movie. You can find it on their web site, last song way at the bottom.

    • Yes! I’ve thought Blue Peter (songs like: “Radio Silence”, “Don’t Walk Past”) should be included in this show.

  2. Just wanted to say thanks for playing “Cassandra.” Was on the way home from Brooklyn last night and was pleasantly shocked when the 30-year-old track from my old band came on. Great setlist…
