Gang of Four sets North American tour in support of new album ‘What Happens Next’

Gang of Four

Post-punk legends Gang of Four return next month with their eighth album and first without founding vocalist Jon King, an 11-song collection that features new frontman John “Gaoler” Sterry plus guest vocalists Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Gail Ann Dorsey, Robbie Furze of the Big Pink , Japanese guitar hero Hotei, and German musician/actor Herbert Grönemeyer.

The album, What Happens Next, is due out Feb. 24 in North American and March 2 in Europe, and is written and produced by Andy Gill, the band’s sole original member.

The band already has previewed both tracks sung by Mossheart: “England’s In My Bones” and “Broken Talk,” the latter of which first was released in a Sterry-sung version in 2013. Stream both tracks below.

GO4 also will mount a 16-date North American tour this March, with dates also expected at South By Southwest. See the tour itinerary below.

  1. I love all their stuff but it’s hard to get excited about Gang of One. The all-originals Return The Gift was fantastic though.

  2. Yeah, I think they should be referred to as “Gang of Four.” Like, with the quotation marks.

  3. They have enough ex-members to start a band of their own, Gang of Former.

I can’t top lotus’ comment, but I guess Andy’s living as he dreams, alone.

  5. Gang of Nothing! Forget it.
