New Wave icon Adam Ant today announced he’ll return to the U.S. this September with the 16-date “Anthems: The Singles Tour,” which, the title suggests, would include performances of some of his best-known songs. The U.S. run follows U.K. dates in May.
The tour opens Sept. 6 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and includes four shows in Florida, before hitting New York City then making its way west, culminating on Sept. 30 with a show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles featuring a special guest appearance by reformed grunge-era group L7.
According to the singer’s website, VIP presales for all U.S. shows begin 10 a.m. local time tomorrow (March 21), with the general on-sales following at 10 a.m. local time Friday (March 24). The site also advises that special pre-sale opportunities will be available through Spotify from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time Thursday (March 23) , using the password ANTHEMS.
Today’s tour announcement comes two months following the death of Tom Edwards, Adam Ant’s guitarist and musical director, during U.S. dates in January.
