Poptone — featuring Bauhaus’ Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins — to release live album

Poptone, the new project that reunites former BauhausTones on Tail and Love and Rockets bandmates Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins, today announced plans to release a live album following the group’s inaugural tour — a run of concerts that opens next week in Tempe, Ariz.

The group, which also features Haskins’ daughter Diva Dompe on bass and keyboards, has started taking preorders through PledgeMusic for a digital live album that “will be culled from live studio recordings and the best of these 2017 live shows,” and which is slated for release in October.

Poptone previewed its tour with a pair of concerts at Swing House Studios in Los Angeles last month, performing a mix of songs by Tones on Tail, Love and Rockets and Bauhaus, with an Ash solo cut and some covers thrown in, too. The live album’s tracklist hasn’t been finalized, but the group says it’ll include “new versions of classics like ‘Lions,’ ‘Twist,’ ‘An American Dream,’ ‘Love Me,’ ‘Go!,’ ‘Mirror People,’ ‘Slice of Life,’ ‘Performance,’ ‘Christian Says’ and many more.”

The digital download is priced at $10, or it also can be purchased, for $35 to $90, in deluxe bundles that also include T-shirts, tour laminates and signed posters or setlists.

Below, check out Poptone’s current tour dates. Additional concerts will be announced.
