They Might Be Giants unveil new album ‘I Like Fun,’ massive U.S. tour — hear new single

They Might Be Giants will release their 15th studio album — the 15-song “rock album” I Like Fun — in January, and will embark on a marathon 50-date U.S. tour that will take the two Johns from coast to coast while on the road from January through April.

The album is due out Jan. 19, and is preceded by the single “I Left My Body,” which you can hear below.

TMBG co-founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh have been working on the new album for more than a year, delivering what’s being described as “fresh and sonically adventurous” new music. The two songwriters, according to the announcement of the new album, “draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music.”

Below, check out the tracklist, see the group’s exhausting tour itinerary and listen to “I Left My Body.”
