BACKSTORY: Cherry Red Records this week releases a 5-disc, 99-song box set chronicling the sound of Liverpool, England, from the mid ’70s to the late ’80s, a collection that includes music from Echo & The Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, OMD, The La’s, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Dead Or Alive, China Crisis, Wild Swans, Big In Japan and more. Packaged in a book that contains sleevenotes by some of the artists themselves.

RELEASE: Ramones, Leave Home, Rocket to Russia
BACKSTORY: Rhino Records will follow up their super-deluxe box sets of the Ramones’ first three albums with standalone, single-disc vinyl reissues of the remastered original albums, first released in 1976 and 1977.
