Chris Connelly re-joined Ministry on stage in Chicago tonight for for the first time in 15 years, reprising his memorable vocal to “So What” alongside Al Jourgensen in a performance that the band streamed live on Facebook — and which you can watch in its entirety below.
CORRECTION: As Slicing Up Eyeballs readers have pointed out, Connelly last joined Ministry on stage in Chicago in 2003 — 15 years ago, not 25 — to perform “So What.”
The Scottish-born Connelly, who also was a member of industrial groups Revolting Cocks and Pigface in the late ’80s and early ’90s (and recently has toured with a reunited RevCo lineup), sang on “So What” on Ministry’s 1989 album The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, and toured with the band for that album and into the early 1990s before parting ways with Jourgensen.
In the intervening years, Connelly has not exactly spoken kindly of his time with Ministry and other Jourgensen projects, once telling an interviewer, “I take a very dim view of my past.”
Yet at tonight’s show at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, Jourgensen — who’s been touring behind Ministry’s latest album AmeriKKKant — introduces the song by saying, “We’re going to bring up an old friends of our from like 15, 16, 17 years ago. A person I hold very near and dear to my heart, who’s going to help us sing a song called ‘So What.’ His name is Chris Connelly!”

Matt, I posted this on FB as well. Chris Connelly sang “So What” with Ministry on April 22, 2003 at the Vic in Chicago. If you change 25 to 15 years, it will be accurate. Cheers!
CC appeared on stage with Ministry at the Vic Theater in 2003. That is 15 years not 25.
He last sang it on 04/22/03 at the Vic. So 15 years, not 25.
