Nine Inch Nails announces new EP, 26-date U.S. tour with The Jesus and Mary Chain

Nine Inch Nails today announced the release of the third in a trilogy of new EPs — the six-song Bad Witch — as well as plans for a fall U.S. tour dubbed Cold and Black and Infinite that will see Trent Reznor and Co. playing multiple two-night stands with opener The Jesus and Mary Chain.

The tour opens Sept. 13 in Phoenix, and will include two-night stands at most cities it visits, including pairs of shows at iconic venues such as Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Radio City Music Hall in New York City. A few cities only have one show, and the tour ends with a four-night stand in Los Angeles.

In a move the band says is designed “to get tickets directly into the hands of fans instead of resellers,” seats to the U.S. shows will only be sold in person at each venue’s box office on May 19 — with the exception of the Red Rocks concerts, which will go on sale in person May 20 at the Denver Coliseum box office. (Though the band does say “limited quantities of tickets may be released via additional ticketing channels, subject to availability, at a later date.”)

There will be a four-ticket limit per show; visit nin.com/tickets2018 for full details.

Ahead of the tour, NIN will release the Bad Witch EP on June 22, finishing the trilogy that began with 2016’s Not the Actual Events and 2017’s Add Violence.

  1. Haunted When the Minutes Drag

There is nothing on Earth that could stop me from seeing this show at the Palladium. NIN is great, but the Mary Chain is the greatest.

I am in complete agreement and would only add that this combo has the potential to best any concert I’ve ever attended. My first Aragon Ballroom show was at age 12 and was The Clash so that venue and the artists I’ve had the pleasure of seeing there (add The Smiths, Depeche Mode, New Order, U2, etc. to that 80’s Aragon list) and I think that confirms how amped I am.

  2. Nine Inch Nails should be opening.

  3. Remember when NIN opened for JAMC at LA’s Universal Amphitheater back in 1989 or 1990. Before the show, I saw a tiny fella being interviewed by KROQ’s Jed the Fish in the lobby. It was Trent Reznor.
