RELEASE: Grand Bargain! 
BACKSTORY: The reunited indie rock kings of Champaign, Ill., return this week with their first new album in 14 years, an 11-song set that was preceded by the politically charged title track a few months back.

The Breeders

RELEASE: Pod, Last Splash, Title TK, Mountain Battles
BACKSTORY: Following the band’s return to the label for new album All Nerve, 4AD this week reissues all four of The Breeders’ prior albums on vinyl; it’s the first time the label has released Pod and Last Splash on vinyl in North America.

Matthew Sweet

RELEASE: Tomorrow’s Daughter
BACKSTORY: The singer-songwriter this week releases his 13th album, a collection of songs originally recorded for last year’s Tomorrow Forever and originally sent to Kickstarter backers who helped fund the 2017 record.

Rat Scabies

RELEASE: P.H.D. (Prison Hospital Debt)
BACKSTORY: The former drummer and co-founder of The Damned this week issues his debut solo album, a 12-song set recorded over the last several years that includes the track “Floating,” which we premiered this week.

Lords of Acid

RELEASE: Pretty in Kink
BACKSTORY: The Belgian post-industrial/electronic outfit returns this week with its sixth studio album, a 12-song collection that includes the tracks “Like Pablo Escobar,” “Flow Juice,” “Break Me” and “What the Fuck!”

    weren’t Wire and The Breeders records already reissued not long ago??? Seems to be a money gimmick.
