Legendary British punk act The Damned will return to the United States this October for a tour in support of Evil Spirits, the band’s first new album in a decades — a 12-date trek that will take the band across the country, with the promise of more dates to be announced.
The tour, which is bookended by two series of U.K. dates, opens Oct. 17 in Boston, and will wrap up Nov. 2 in Los Angeles. Tickets to all shows go on sale 10 a.m. local time Friday.
The Damned released its Tony Visconti-produced new album — the band’s 11th since coming together in 1976, and first since 2008’s So, Who’s Paranoid? — in April 13.
The record sees co-founders Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible re-enlisting former bassist Paul Gray, who played in The Damned from 1980 to 1983, and again in 1989 and 1996, and performed on The Black Album and Strawberries. Gray’s return follows the departure of Stu West, who had joined in 2004.
