Premiere: The Alarm debuts video for ‘Thirteen Dead Reindeer’ off new album ‘Equals’

In late June, Mike Peters released the first album by The Alarm in eight years, an 11-song effort called Equals that features Billy Duffy of The Cult on one song. Now comes the music video for one of the album’s standouts: “Thirteen Dead Reindeer,” a driving rockers with some electronic flourishes.

The band, which features Peters’ wife Jules along with drummer Smiley of the late Joe Strummer’s Mescalaros and guitarist James Stevenson, is currently on tour in the U.S., and will play in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Dates continue through the end of August, wrapping up in the Los Angeles area.

    Pretty bad.

  2. Christ, back then they were a lame U2 clone; what does that make them now?

  3. One of the worst U2 songs U2 never recorded.

  4. Meh.

Having been a lifelong u2,The Alarm, Simple Minds, cult… fan I can safely say that the new material from Simple Minds and The Alarm is fresh and brilliant to hear live, unfortunately this can not be said for u2 which hurts. There is an endearing awkwardness to Mike Peters enthusiasm and positive attitude that hopefully will never cease. =

  6. Time to stop comparing The Alarm. Both bands formed a friendship from the earliest of days, before u2 became the biggest band in the world. The alarm are on par with u2 live albeit playing to smaller crowds.
To be honest the new equils album is slightly better than u2’s Songs of Experience but both bands signature tracks are from their earlier albums. Keep fighting the fight LHS

Great song let down by a crap video. Time to stop the parodying and acting and concentrate on what the Alarm are good at…..playing live. That said their new material is a breath of fresh air and shows that sometimes rock and roll is very much alive in North Wales. If you are a fan of Big Country, Cult, u2,the boss …you will love Equils
