BACKSTORY: The former Jam leader returns this week with his 14th solo album, a record that features “lush orchestration” and is being described as the “most singer-songwriter style album he has ever made.”

The Chills

RELEASE: Snow Bound
BACKSTORY: The New Zealand indie-pop legends return this week with their first new album in three years and sixth overall. Features the songs “Bad Suger,” “The Greatest Guide,” “Love of All I Survey” and more.

Devo

RELEASE: Total Devo
BACKSTORY: Devo’s 1988 album gets a 30th anniversary reissue this week on CD and vinyl, with the original album appended with a second disc filled with remixes, demos and unheard tracks unearthed from the band’s archives.

    The bonus disc of Total DEVO is essentially the Disco Dancer EP with a few extra bits and bobs added in. “Repeat until he fails,” indeed.

    Come on, lads. I know there’s more in the vaults at Mutato waiting for release!
