Beggars Arkive this October will reissue the 10th studio album from post-punk legends The Fall — 1988’s The Frenz Experiment — in deluxe expanded 2CD and 2LP editions, with the original 10-song record supplemented with a second disc of singles and B-sides from that era.

The reissue, which also will be released in digital formats, is due out Oct. 23, and can be pre-ordered now.

All formats include the bonus singles and B-sides, but the CD and digital releases also will include a previously unreleased four-song BBC session and a rare cover of The Beatles’ “A Day in the Life,” once featured on a BBC charity album. The CD edition includes a 24-page booklet whit new interviews.

In his 2008 memoir “Renegade,” Mark E. Smith wrote of The Frenz Experiment:

“I was clearing out the other day and I came across a review of Frenz Experiment, saying how this could have been great, how it could have been like T. Rex’s Electric Warrior. I never attempted to make an album like T-Rex. I don’t see the point in anybody trying to make an album like T-Rex, although people do. I don’t mind it when journalists make fair comparisons, when they’ve done their homework. But comparing Frenz to Electric Warrior is plain daft.”

Below, check out the tracklists for the CD/digital and vinyl editions, plus a new animated music video for the song “Frenz” directed by Sabrina Nichols and Craig McNeil:
