Got a request? To be considered for next week’s show, drop it in the comments below by noon Tuesday. Requests will be considered as long as they fit the show’s format and generally within the 1stWave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song.

  1. New Bauhaus is exciting for sure. Skinny Puppy is always a welcome addition to the evening. Man, drum machines don’t got no soul, which is why I love the Sisters. Thank you for the Wax Trax! Could we please, please, hear:

    The Cramps- Surfin’ Dead

It would be a liminal auditory experience.

  2. Can you dig up “Pictures of Matchstick Men” by Camper Van Beethoven for next Sunday’s show? Thanx!

  3. Excellent episode tonight!

  4. Godflesh- Streetcleaner

  5. Yea- not industrial.

  6. Let’s Try “The Figurehead” by The Cure

  7. Loved the show tonight. Every hour had some great cuts, but the Nitzer Ebb/Japan/Eleven Pond/Martin Dupont and closing Industrial block put Hour 3 over the top.

The OMD cut didn’t play. We got Cure’s “Seventeen Seconds” instead. I vaguely recall this happening last time you tried to play that track too I think.

On a future episode, could you play some Blue Hollow? “Color of Night”, “Hearts Hang Souls” or “Raining Down” maybe. On a side note, how many bands would you play on your show that did a song named after themselves? I thought about this when I was listening to Blue Hollow’s LP. There’s Blue Hollow (“Blue Hollow”), Escape with Romeo (“Escape with Romeo”), and who else? Drawing a blank.

Anyway, thanks for the good music. Have a great week.

  8. You played ‘2nd Thought’, Delicious Demon!! D.A.F’s epic Sex Unter Wasser!!?
With Bigmouth as the cherry on top-

Oh how I/we love you Mathew.
    Never ever stop!

  9. Theatre of Hate – Rebel Without a Brain

  10. Wow, another set straight from my college dorm room. Sweet! “Bigmouth Strikes Again” was a perfect complement to what happened at the Oscars…

I wanted to put in a good word for I Speak Machine (i.e. instrumentalist/vocalist Tara Busch). She’s not from the “classic” era, but her industrial-edged vibe seems 100% compatible with the Dark Wave aesthetic. I saw here live in Boston
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBqrIhClEDs) opening for Gary Numan (ahem). What a stunning, dynamic performance, for one woman with a microphone and a modest tower of keyboards and effects boxes (which she set up and took down herself). Numan’s set was great, but none of the promotional materials made any mention of the opening act, which seems borderline negligent. And it might be part of the reason (or a symptom of it) for why I have never heard of her before, despite being a follower of Dark Wave/Industrial/Goth/Synthpop since the early ’80s. She deserves a much bigger audience.

  11. Paul Rafanello

    How about Kommunity FK

  12. Hi Matt! So looking forward to hearing the show today on the app. It’s makes my Mondays so much better believe me! I also appreciate you playing requests. It’s always so nice to hear songs near and dear to me. And on that note… some possible suggestions for next time (Spring shoegaze, anyone?!)

M83 – We Own the Sky
Slowdive – When the Sun Hits
    Astral – Waterfall

    Thanks!!!!

  13. New Model Army (anything) and/or The Bolshoi “Sunday Morning”?

  14. I was going to request something by Jim Thirwell, but now I don’t need to as you got to it already. So how about Armageddon Dildos–East-West?

  15. Thanks for the New Order! Didn’t even realize the film samples would be extra appropriate given it was Oscars night. For next week, perhaps something from the Salvation soundtrack? New Order’s “Skullcrusher” is a great deep cut, but there’s also a couple of good obscure Cabaret Voltaire songs on there … I’m partial to “Twanky Party”.

  16. Yet another terrific set of tracks. Kudos for SPK, Foetus, D.A.F., Cabs, and [of course] Nurse With Wound! I won’t even bother asking for anything because it’ll get played sooner or later. My favorite DJ!

  17. Something from A House would be great. Preferably from On Our Big Fat Merry-Go-Round. Favorite songs: Call Me Blue, I’ll Always Be Grateful, That’s Not the Truth, Clump of Trees.

  18. Fields of the Nephilim – “Blue Water”

  19. REVOLTING COCKS-partial to live version of we shall cleanse the world but could be anything from LIVE! You GD son of a bitch, love it all. Thank you for improving my mental and spiritual health with our weekly communion.

  20. Thanks for another good show Matt!
    For next week,

    Ultra Vivid Scene-Mercy Seat

  21. Couple of requests for next week:

Ivo’s 12” mix of Clan of Xymox A Day which is nuts but I love love love love

And any of the long versions of Suicide songs!

  22. Balanced darkness in each hour!

    Here are some requests –

    The Misfits – London Dungeon
    Luna – Slash Your Tires

    Thanks!

  23. Excellent show last Sunday!
I’d like to request Pain Teens “Inside Me” or another track, and Killing Joke “Love Like Blood”
    Thanks!

  24. Wonderful episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Revolting Cocks, “Something Wonderful”

“But I´m weak, when I´m in this deep,
It´s not a game anymore, it´s gone too FAR!”

  25. OK, I may have fibbed. Could you play Horrorhead by Mint Julep or Loop in Blue by Halou?
