Peter Hook’s site fac51thehacienda.com has been slowly uploading early ’80s concert footage shot at New Order’s club The Haçienda over the past couple years, and this week added a real gem: four clips of Bauhaus performing at the Manchester club on Aug. 14, 1982, less than a year before the band broke up.

Last week, Fire Records announced a “special ongoing partnership” with New Zealand indie-pop legends The Chills that it headlined “The Past, The Present, The Future.” Now, as bandleader Martin Phillipps celebrates his 50th birthday this week, the label has premiered the band’s first new music in nine years: “Molten Gold.”

A week after teasing fans with the first footage of The Replacements rehearsals now under way in Minneapolis, the ‘Mats today did a bit better, posting to Facebook 19 seconds of Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson ripping through “Favorite Thing.”

New Order next week will commemorate its highly successful reunion, and raise money for charity, with the release of a new 13-track live album recorded at the U.K.’s Bestival last September — and you can now stream the full album below (via The Guardian).

The Suburbs — contemporaries of The Replacements and Hüsker Dü in the first half of the ’80s who, more recently, have seen their song “Love is the Law” adopted as the theme for the gay marriage movement in Minnesota — are recording their first new album in 27 years and are asking fans to help fund the project.

The Pixies today followed up last week’s free release of a surprise new track with more revelations, namely that the band is about to embark on a “massive global tour” to debut material off its follow-up to 1991’s Trompe le Monde with The Muffs frontwoman Kim Shattuck replacing the departed Kim Deal.

This week’s new releases include reissues from Microdisney (‘Love Your Enemies,’ ‘The Clock Comes Down The Stairs’), New Model Army (a repackaged 2003 live set) and A Certain Ratio (I’d Like To See You Again’), plus new best-ofs from Visage and The Proclaimers.
