Stream: Soundgarden, ‘Been Away Too Long’ — off first new album in 16 years

Reunited grunge-era titans Soundgarden this week debuted the appropriately titled “Been Away Too Long,” the first song off forthcoming record ‘King Animal,’ the group’s first new studio album in 16 years. The rocker is the second new song to emerge since the band reunited in 2010.

Tim Burton’s latest stop-motion creation, “Frankenweenie,” doesn’t debut in theaters for another 10 days, but the companion album Frankenweenie Unleashed! came out today featuring a brand-new recording from The Cure’s Robert Smith: a woozy cover of the old Frank Sinatra standard “Witchcraft,” which you can stream here.

Following news this week that The Lemonheads are working on a Ryan Adam-produced reunion album, Fire Records today announced that it will reissue the band’s first three albums — 1987’s ‘Hate Your Friends,’ 1988’s ‘Creator’ and 1989’s ‘Lick,’ all of which featured Evan Dando and original co-songwriter Ben Deily — in 2013.
