Public Image Ltd. brought its U.S. tour to Minneapolis tonight, and before John Lydon and Co. played their headlining date, the band stopped by the studios of The Current to record a three-song session. With their first new studio album in 20 years due in 2012, John Lydon’s reunited Public Image Ltd. will kick off the new year by reissuing nearly its entire back catalog on CD in the U.K., using the same the same newly remastered editions that were released this past summer in Japan in the high-quality SHM-CD format.
The Japanese division of EMI Music this week reissued Public Image Ltd.’s entire catalog in limited, digitally-remastered SHM-CD editions, with 10 titles packaged in vinyl-replica paper sleeves, as well as a tin-can encased, triple-disc ‘Metal Box’ and a standard jewel-case edition of ‘The Greatest Hits… So Far.’
