The surviving members of INXS this week announced they’ve replaced game-show winner J.D. Fortune with new lead singer Ciaran Gribbin — a Grammy-nominated Irish singer-songwriter who has worked with Madonna, Paul McCartney and Snow Patrol — and already have begun work on songs slated for the band’s next studio album.
Following last year’s release of a disc of re-recorded greatest hits, the surviving members of INXS have been promising new music — and today they deliver, offering the first taste of what’s to come in the form of an Andrew Farriss home-studio demo called ‘Tiny Summer.’
Although it still hasn’t been released in the U.S. yet, INXS has issued an official video for its re-recording of ‘Don’t Change’ to promote last year’s ‘Original Sin’ album, which found the band overhauling its old songs with new singers filling in for the late Michael Hutchence.
The surviving members of INXS finally have unveiled the tracklist and release dates for their long-in-the-works ‘Original Sin’ greatest-hits collection, featuring re-recordings of the band’s classics with new vocals by the likes of Ben Harper, Rob Thomas, Tricky and even occasional frontman J.D. Fortune.
