Fans planning to attend The Psychedelic Furs’ New Year’s Day concert in Las Vegas and three early January shows in California will now get a New Wave double bill as The Fixx has signed on to support most of the Furs’ upcoming West Coast dates — plays the band’s got a few year-end shows of its own planned, too.

The Fixx returned to network television last night with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that saw the band performing new single “Anyone Else” plus the classic “Red Skies” during the closing credits. The group stuck around to perform a web-only version of “One Thing Leads To Another” as well.

The Fixx returns today with their first new album in a decade, the 11-track Beautiful Friction, and they’re promoting the effort with a new music video for first single “Anyone Else.” The arty clip references various forms of conflict, from political debates to the Westboro Baptist Church and the Occupy movement.

With ‘Beautiful Friction,’ their first album in nearly a decade, out next week, New Wave rockers The Fixx have expanded their U.S. summer tour, with dates set next week in California, a smattering of free shows around the country in August and a pair of late-summer fair dates with the J. Geils Band.

The Fixx returns next month with ‘Beautiful Friction,’ the band’s first album in nearly a decade and the first featuring the group’s classic mid-’80s — singer Cy Curnin, keyboard player Rupert Greenall, guitarist Jamie West-Oram, drummer Adam Woods and bassist Dan K. Brown — lineup since 1991’s ‘Ink.’
