Depeche Mode marked the anniversary this week of the release of its massive Violator album with a new Archives Special devoted to the band’s infamous record-signing session at The Wherehouse record store in Los Angeles on March 20, 1990 — an event that drew 10,000 fans.

To mark the occasion, Depeche Mode has debuted a new Archives Special on its website, a 5 1/2-minute reel compiled by webmaster Daniel Barassi that features rare performance footage of “Policy of Truth” from that July 31, 1993, concert, plus clips of “120 Minutes” host Lewis Largent interviewing each member of the band.

Tuesday marks the 25th anniversary of Depeche Mode’s iconic “Concert For the Masses,” a daylong show at the 100,000-seat Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., that also featured performances by Wire, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Thomas Dolby — and was, of course, filmed and recorded for ‘101.’
