The remainder of Devo’s 2010 live dates have been postponed after guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh sliced his right thumb ‘to the bone’ on a shard of glass, severing a tendon and requiring emergency surgery, the band announced today on its website.

This week’s new releases include a pair of 2CD sets from famed synthpop label ZTT Records (an expanded reissue of Propaganda’s ‘A Secret Wish’ and the Art of Noise comp ‘Influence’), as well as a blue-vinyl issue of Devo’s new ‘Something for Everybody’ and the debut from The High Confessions, featuring Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley and Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks).

Devo not only celebrated yesterday’s release of ‘Something for Everybody’ — their first new album in 20 years — by holding a listening party for cats, the jump-suited band also turned up on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ last night to perform the single ‘Fresh.’

This week’s new releases include the U.K. edition of ‘Intriguer,’ Crowded House’s second post-reunion album; ‘Something for Everybody,’ Devo’s first new album in 20 years; ‘Close-Up Vol. 1: Love Songs,’ a disc of Suzanne Vega re-recordings; and the reissue of The Dream Syndicate’s ‘Medicine Show.’

Archetypal New Wave nerds Devo this week finally unveiled the tracklist for this summer’s ‘Something for Everybody’ — the band’s first new album in 20 years — after doing alleged audience research through its ‘Song Study’ website.

Devo took to the airwaves last night to perform their new single, ‘Fresh,’ on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ The track is off the band’s first new album in 20 years, ‘Something for Everybody,’ which is due out June 15 — and is available now on the ‘Song Study’ EP via iTunes.

Fans who can’t be in Indio, Calif., this weekend — or bands trapped in the U.K. by an angry volcano — can watch much of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival via free streaming webcasts on Facebook, MySpace and Verizon V Cast Video on Demand (for those with Verizon phones) beginning tonight.

Bernard Sumner’s New Order spinoff Bad Lieutenant is one of the myriad bands set to play this weekend’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival — and the group today went ahead and announced (spoiler alert) its setlist for Saturday night’s performance.

This week’s new releases include Record Store Day-related reissues from R.E.M., Sonic Youth and Devo, plus the expanded edition of Iggy and the Stooges’ classic ‘Raw Power,’ and a new Revolting Cocks album.

The third-annual Record Store Day is set for April 17, and this year’s exclusive releases include a reissue of Rhino’s 4LP Joy Division vinyl box set, a blue-vinyl reissue of R.E.M.’s ‘Chronic Town’ and fresh vinyl reissues from Sonic Youth, Joe Strummer and the Ramones.
